Are vaccinations required to attend this event?

No.  According to SCA "Memorandum – Statement Regarding Proof of Vaccinations, Negative COVID Tests, and Temperature Checks of Attendees at Society Events," published April 23, 2021:

"The Board, President, and Society Seneschal are agreed that Kingdoms, and all groups below Kingdom status, shall only be permitted to request proof of vaccination, a negative COVID test, or temperature checks where required by federal, provincial, state, or local laws. No variances will be granted that do not comply with this interpretation."

At this time such measures are not required by Greene County Public Health.  For more information, please visit their website here:

We continue to heartily encourage all Midrealmers who are able to obtain a vaccination to do so to protect others who may not be able to be vaccinated due to health concerns or their age.

Are there any added safety considerations for this event?

#1 - Weather permitting, nearly the entire event will take place outdoors.

#2 - There will be Sanitation Stations spaced throughout the grounds.

#3 - Drive through Troll with plans to remain as contactless as possible.

#4 - Volunteers will be sanitizing commonly touched items and access points (e.g., door knobs, faucet handles, paper towel dispensers).

However, no matter what safety precautions we put in place, there is no substitute for each individual being educated about the risk to themselves and their loved ones and making responsible choices to protect themselves and others from this virus.

Why do I have to pre-register?

According to the SCA Notice entitled "Variance to Board Resolution of May 25, 2021, Regarding Preregistration Requirements" published on June 17, 2021:

"Therefore, preregistration for SCA events will no longer be required starting July 1, 2021... Kingdoms and groups may continue to require preregistration for certain functions at their discretion."

In a Middle Kingdom decree from June 17, 2021:

"However, as Kingdoms have the ability to keep more stringent requirements as it sees fit during this re-opening process, know that the Middle Kingdom will continue to REQUIRE pre registration for all 'weekend' events."

Please note that we will be using the SCA-rs system and have opted to charge a 0% cancellation fee, if you cancel in advance of the event.
